The Forge at Hoops House is designed to support athlete recovery in a safe, controlled environment. All users are responsible for using the facilities appropriately and within their personal limits. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in restricted access.

Before Your Session
Ensure you are in good health and feeling well before using the facilities
If you have any medical conditions, injuries, or concerns, consult a medical professional before use
Eat lightly and avoid heavy meals immediately prior to your session
Stay well hydrated before entering the sauna or ice bath
Remove jewellery and personal items that may heat, cool, or cause discomfort
After Your Session
Allow your body time to cool down or warm up gradually
Rehydrate thoroughly after use
Avoid intense training immediately if you feel fatigued or lightheaded
Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to staff
Hygiene & Facility Care
Shower before entering shared recovery facilities where required
Use towels appropriately and maintain cleanliness
Dispose of rubbish correctly
Treat all equipment and spaces with care
Sauna Safety
Health Restrictions
Do not use the sauna if you have open wounds, eye disease, or severe sunburn.
Pregnant women and infants should not use the sauna.
Individuals with temperature-related health conditions or diseases should consult a doctor before use.
People at risk of hyperthermia, including those with cardiovascular conditions, should seek medical advice prior to use
Age and Supervision Requirements
Children under 8 years old must not use the sauna
adult supervision is required for all children 14 years or younger
During Use
Exit the sauna immediately if you feel uncomfortable, dizzy, faint, sleepy.
Do not use the sauna while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
If the sauna becomes too warm, open the front door to release heat.
Fire & Electrical Safety
To prevent fire, do not dry clothes or leave towels in the sauna.
Do NOT spray water on the far-infrared heating elements. This may cause electric shock or damage to the equipment.
Keep all liquids away from the heating panels and electronics.
Keep flammable objects and corrosive chemical substances away from the sauna.
To prevent burns or electrical shock, do not touch or use metal tools on the far-infrared heating elements or their fabric covers.
Hyperthermia Warning:
An increase of the body’s internal temperature above the normal 37°C (98.6°F) can cause dizziness, lethargy, fainting, impaired judgment, inability to sense heat, or even unconsciousness

During Your Session
Use the facilities calmly and responsibly at all times
Listen to your body and respect your limits
Do not push through discomfort, dizziness, nausea, or fatigue
Exit the sauna or ice bath immediately if you feel unwell
Avoid prolonged exposure — recovery should be controlled, not extreme
Maintain appropriate behaviour and respect the private recovery space
Supervision & Responsibility
Junior athletes must follow all age and supervision guidelines
Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring children understand and follow safety rules
Staff instructions must be followed at all times
Users participate at their own risk
Acknowledgement
By booking and using The Forge, users acknowledge that recovery methods such as sauna and ice bath exposure involve physical stress and agree to use the facilities responsibly, in accordance with all safety guidelines provided.
Ice Bath Safety
Health Restrictions
Do not use the ice bath if you feel unwell, dizzy, or overly fatigued
Pregnant women and infants should not use the ice bath
Individuals with heart conditions, circulatory issues, respiratory conditions, Raynaud’s disease, or cold sensitivity should consult a medical professional before use
Anyone with open wounds, infections, or skin conditions should not enter the ice bath
People with a history of fainting or cold-induced reactions should seek medical advice prior to use
Age & Supervision Requirements
Children under 8 years old must not use the ice bath
Adult supervision is required for all children aged 14 years and under
Junior athletes should follow conservative exposure times and guidance from staff
During Use
Enter the ice bath slowly and under control
Focus on calm, controlled breathing — avoid hyperventilation
Recommended exposure time: 30 seconds to 3 minutes
Exit immediately if you experience:
Dizziness or lightheadedness
Numbness beyond normal cold sensation
Sharp pain or distress
Loss of coordination or breath control
Do not submerge your head unless instructed and experienced
Cold Shock & Hypothermia Warning
Sudden exposure to cold water can cause an involuntary cold shock response, including rapid breathing, elevated heart rate, and loss of breath control. Prolonged exposure may increase the risk of hypothermia.
Users must monitor their exposure time carefully and exit the ice bath before discomfort becomes distress.
Hypothermia Warning:
A decrease of the body’s internal temperature below the normal 37°C (98.6°F) can cause intense shivering, numbness, confusion, impaired coordination, slowed breathing, fatigue, and in severe cases, loss of consciousness.
